Carly Dipaolo
Library Assistant
Hi, I'm Carly, I'm currently a student at JCTC earning my Associate of Arts. Someday I plan to open my own Italian food truck. I like long family trips and walks on the beach at night with the turtles. I am also a great baby and pet sitter.
Krista Dietrich-Osiecki

I have a Master's in Library Science from the University of Kentucky. I also have a Master’s in College Student Personnel and a Bachelor’s in Public Relations, both from Purdue University.

As the associate director of tutoring services, I am responsible for ensuring tutors and tutees navigate the tutoring process successfully. I graduated from UofL in 2019 with my M.A. in English, and since then, I have taught and tutored composition at UofL and JCTC. I spend my free time hiking, gardening, and hanging out with my dog, cat, and rabbit.

Lisa Eichholtz I am a reference and collection development librarian. I am originally from upstate, NY and earned my A.A. from Cazenovia College in 1981, a B.A. in religious studies from LeMoyne College in 1991 and an MLS from Syracuse University in 1992. Before coming to Jefferson in 2004, I worked in medical school libraries and at Sullivan University. In the “before-times” I organized open houses and other programs in the Learning Commons. I have 3 adult children (2 are JCTC alumnae). Please send me suggestions for the collection, or come see me on Ask A Librarian.
Maia Graudick
Administrative Assistant
Hey! I'm Maia, and I'm the Administrative Assistant here at the Learning Commons. My job involves working behind the scenes to make sure every part of the Learning Commons has what it needs to continue running smoothly. I'm also a student here at Jefferson! After I get my associate's, I plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in accounting. Outside of school and work you can find me exercising my creativity, expanding my knowledge about outer space, or simply hanging out with the people that matter to me. If you ever need anything, feel free to come find me after class or around the Learning Commons, I'll always be happy to help.
Jerica Lowe

In my free time, I love to read and play video games. Please stop by and give me suggestions on what I should read or play next!
Geneva Jewell
Librarian
Hello, my name is Geneva Jewell. I am a Jefferson alum, earned a BA in Psychology at UofL, and a Masters in Library Science at UK. I can answer questions about a research paper assignment, like how to choose and focus a topic then find sources in library databases or the internet that support your writing.
I love learning, I am fascinated by the process of how we incorporate what we read, watch, and hear into knowing. I am a reader, listener, watcher, and thinker, and I also love growing plants and flowers of all kinds.
Rafe Johnson
Professor/Librarian I/Assistant Dean of the Learning Commons
I am here at Jefferson to answer your questions and help you. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern University in Boston and a Masters in Library Science from the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
Terry King
Public Services Librarian
Hello. In my previous life I was a potter, having gotten my BFA with a concentration in ceramics from UofL. In my mid-forties, however, I decided I should have a more reliable career, so I went to UK to get my master's degree in library science. Though I had a Mayberry version of librarianship in my mind, and that has proven to be totally incorrect, it has still turned out to be a great career for me. I retired from being a children's librarian from LFPL, and now am lucky enough to be at JCTC. I'm here to serve you!
Pie Martinez
Public Services Librarian
Hello, my name is Pie. I love my cat, sleeping, reading, and eating good food. I am a student at U of K working on my masters in Library Science. I also really like coffee.
John Nation
IT Specialist
My name is John and I’m the IT Specialist for Jefferson’s Learning Commons. I currently serve both downtown and southwest campuses, but I’ve held several other roles since 2013. My position supports faculty, staff, students, learning and collaboration across campuses. Like many others at The Learning Commons, I share a passion for learning and a commitment to our students and community.
Maria Nazari
Reference & Instruction Librarian
My name is Maria. I have a BA in English, a BA in Spanish, a minor in Music Performance, and just graduated with a Master's in Library Science, all from the University of Kentucky. I have a passion for reading, playing clarinet, writing poetry, and participating in the arts in general.
Jessica Newman
She/Her/Hers
Dean of the Learning Commons/Co-Director of Tutoring Services
I oversee all aspects of tutoring for all Jefferson students. I have been a teacher, writing center tutor and writing center administrator at a variety of institutions. I earned a PhD in rhetoric and composition from the University of Louisville, along with a BS in cognitive science from Brown University, an MA in language and literacy from the City College of New York and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Notre Dame. My research focuses on listening in tutoring sessions, including listening's interactions with power, openness, understanding and emotion, and on relationships between tutors and tutoring administrators. Originally from Brooklyn, I have lived in Louisville since 2015. I appreciate coffee shops, my dog, open-mindedness, TV, takeout and cooperative board games. Please contact me if you have any questions about tutoring—I’d love to hear from you!
Kelly O’Hara

I love helping students find the information they need for papers, projects, etc. I have a bachelor's degree in English (so I've done my share of writing and research) and a Master's Degree in Information Sciences (where I learned how to help other people do research!). I am married and have two young children. We love exploring the city and have recently enjoyed hiking our way through Jefferson Memorial Forest and the Parklands! I also love pizza, the color purple, ducks, cardigans, Gilmore Girls, reading, and running.
