Admissions

Welcome to college!The Admissions office at Jefferson covers a wide variety of needs. Potential students can get started with information about applying. You can also schedule a campus visit, identify any placement tests that may be required, and find information on how schedule your orientation.

If you are a first time, international, or continuing student please find the answers you need by visiting their homepage. You can also schedule a campus visit for the location you will be attending.

JCTC has designed a program to help first time students excel from their first semester. The SOAR program will help guide you through orientation, advising, registration for classes, and a variety of other areas. Please take a look at what they have to offer!


There are two Admissions offices for JCTC. They are located at:

  • Downtown - Jefferson Educational Center (JEC), 200 West Broadway, Room 216 Louisville, KY 40202
  • Southwest - Administration Building, Room 152

Records

The Records office is here to help you during your time at Jefferson, and post-graduation. They are a great resource for policies, procedures, forms, and requests. You can find an overview of their services on their homepage. For specific contact information, please review this list

They also oversee the Drop/Withdrawal policy, with guidelines outlined on their page.

Financial Aid

The Financial Aid office covers a wide variety of needs related to affording college. The easiest way to source an answer to your question is to visit their Financial Aid FAQs and review the questions outlined. These questions address the process of applying for and accepting financial aid, as well as the necessary forms to complete. You can also read a breakdown of different forms of Financial Aid.

There is help available to complete your financial aid paperwork! The KentuckianaWorks College Access Center (KCAC) offers a program to assist students in overcoming the barriers to attending college. Take a look at the variety of services they offer and contact them for the assistance you need.

If you do not find an answer to your question, there are several other ways to get help. You can visit the Student Self-Service portal, call (855-2GO-JCTC)  or visit your campus office for further help. They are located at the following locations:

Bursars Office

The Bursar's Office handles tuition payments for all students. Jefferson's Bursar accept payments in cash, check, money order or 3rd Party/Financial Aid/Scholarship forms. They can explain any difference in financial aid and tuition charges that may occur. In addition to in-person services, online payment methods are available via your Student Self-Service account. In-person payments are only accepted at the Downtown and Southwest campuses. Cashier services not available at Bullitt, Carrollton, Shelby, or Technical Campuses.

If you decide that you will not be attending classes after registering, you need to officially withdraw from classes to avoid being charged.

!! Helpful tip !!
Check your KCTCS student email account regularly. All correspondence will be sent to this student email, including tuition bills and notices from the Bursar. It is very important to read and respond to any emails as soon as possible!
