- The Learning Commons can help students learning English. We may have tutors that specialize in working with ESL students. Check out the schedule for yourself (on the Downtown campus, look at the Tutoring Directory for ESL).
- LearningExpress Library can be used to practice your English skills. There is a section on studying for the TOEFL iBT and the IELTS Tests. There are also sections on reading, grammar, and writing under the College Students and Adult Core Skills categories. To use LearningExpress Library, you'll need to create a free account.
- Films on Demand has videos related to learning English from grammar to vocabulary and so much more!
- SkillSurfer (from Brainfuse) has self-paced lessons and practice tests. You access these by clicking on SkillSurfer and then clicking on College to see the lessons and tests available related to Math, Writing, Learning English and more!
The English as a Second Language (ESL) program offers classes focusing on reading, writing, and grammar for students wanting to increase their English abilities. The International and Immigration Student Services is devoted to helping ESL and international succeed through advising, college orientations, cultural adjustment counseling, informational workshops, and other co-curricular programming.
The Louisville Free Public Library has an entire page on Immigrant Services where they highlight the materials that they have in other languages, ESL/ELL resources, events and more.
Kentucky Refugee Ministries offers ESL classes for eligible refugee clients.
JCPS offers ESL classes as part of its adult education program with focuses on both Life Skills and Academic Skills.
