Peer and Adjunct Tutors

Interested in helping students learn and succeed? Become a tutor at the Learning Commons! We offer flexible schedules, paid training and a supportive environment. We strongly encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. And you don't have to be an expert to be a good tutor! In fact, the best tutors are often those who struggled in the class themselves.

Part-Time Reference/Instruction Librarian

Jefferson Community and Technical College is looking for a part-time Reference & Instruction Librarian or Library Assistant to work at the Downtown Campus (Louisville).

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Provide virtual and in-person reference.
  • Provide chat reference via chat, text, email and phone.
  • Provide bibliographic instruction.
  • Work with the Instructional Team to develop instructional tools:
    • LibGuides
    • Video tutorials
    • Handouts
  • Assist with various Learning Commons Projects.
    • Weeding.
    • Withdrawals.
    • Inventory.
    • Collection audits.

This position will work at the Downtown Campus Learning Commons (Louisville). Pay is competitive. The position will provide the following opportunities:

  • Gain experience in nearly every aspect of academic library work.
  • Gain experience and knowledge of Ex Libris Alma integrated library system.
  • Develop and build skills in a wide variety of library activities.
  • Work closely with faculty and staff in an academic environment.
  • Working closely with information seeking college students.
