Jerica Lowe, Public Services Librarian
Currently Reading: Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

"Fourth Wing will have your heart pounding from beginning to end... A fantasy like you've never read before." ―#1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout

Ken Solomon, Director of Library Services

Currently Reading: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

I am always looking for new (to me) fantasy epics and authors.  Nothing helps me escape reality better than an engaging fantasy epic.  Several people have been recommending Sarah Mass to me for the past couple of years, so I am introducing myself to her work by reading the first book in this series filled with fairies, romance and magical creatures. The book provides a magical twist on the boy meets girl story, while also exploring prejudice, misinformation and classism.

Lisa Eichholtz, Librarian

Currently Reading: The City & The City by China Miéville

“An outstanding take on police procedurals…. Through this exaggerated metaphor of segregation, Miéville skillfully examines the illusions people embrace to preserve their preferred social realities.” — Publishers Weekly, starred review

Sara Williams, Librarian
Currently Reading: Wannabe by Aisha Harris

"Aisha Harris has made a name for herself as someone you can turn to for a razor-sharp take on whatever show or movie everyone is talking about. Now, she turns her talents inward, mining the benchmarks of her nineties childhood and beyond to analyze the tropes that are shaping all of us, and our ability to shape them right back." - Amazon

Amy Wehrle, Librarian

Currently Reading: What happened to the Bennetts? by Lisa Scottoline

"Just might be the best book Scottoline has ever written, a masterpiece of misdirection, where nothing is as it seems, and a scorching character study of a man at the end of his rope who's not about to go down without a fight." —Providence Journal

Nicole Dugan, Tutoring Coordinator
Currently Reading: Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman

The Owens sisters confront the challenges of life and love in this bewitching novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Rules of Magic, Magic Lessons, and The Book of Magic.

Kelly Brothers, Library Specialist

Currently Reading: Slow Dance by Rainbow Rowell

“Who can deny the absolute, dizzy pleasure of loving a novel so much that you cannot bear to put it down, that you want to do nothing but keep flipping pages, that you want to immerse yourself fully and not come up for air until you are finished. I read Slow Dance in just that way, breathless and weeping. There is no one better than Rainbow at creating flawed, deeply human people. I loved every page of Slow Dance, a book that is romantic to its core, and as funny and smart as its wonderful characters.” — Emma Straub, New York Times bestselling author

Maria Nazari, Librarian

Currently Reading: The Eyes are the Best Part by Monika Kim

“Violent, smart, gruesome and wildly original, this novel pulls readers into a horrific world of murder and cannibalism while also critiquing misogyny, exploring Asian fetishization and stereotypes, sharing what it’s like to navigate two cultures and telling a touching story of a family in turmoil.”  —New York Times Book Review

Maia Graudick, Administrative Assistant

Currently Reading: Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan

“One of the most thoughtful and fun reading experiences you're likely to have this year...There's so much largehearted magic in this book.” ―NPR

Violet Davis, Librarian

Currently Reading: Under Black Skies by Clare Sager

I've recently been completely obsessed with Clare Sager. This is her original series set before her other best seller A Kiss of Iron and so far I'm loving it. Pirates, treasure hunting, the high seas - what's not to love!

Jessica Newman, Dean of the Learning Commons
Currently Reading: Tattoos on the Heart by Gregory Boyle

"A spiritual masterpiece touching the innermost sanctum of the human soul. Boyle approaches each person as a child of God and fully deserving of love and compassion. His capacity to reach the heart of the most hardened, and to see the best in everyone, inspires. I laughed, wept, and underlined on virtually every page." --KERRY KENNEDY, FOUNDER OF THE RFK CENTER FOR JUSTICE AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Geneva Jewell, Librarian
Currently Reading: Piglet: A Novel

“A stylish, uncommonly clever novel about the things we want and the things we think we want, Piglet is both an examination of women’s often complicated relationship with food and a celebration of the messes life sometimes makes for us.”

“An elegant, razor-sharp debut about women's ambitions and appetites—and the truth about having it all”  ~A New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice

Krista Dietrich-Osiecki, Librarian
Currently Reading: Starter Villain by John Scalzi

"Witty dialogue, clever world-building and engaging secondary characters make this a satisfying escape from the real world. And of course, if you’ve got a feline companion, Starter Villain is a perfect lazy Cat-urday read."--Wall Street Journal

Rafe Johnson, Librarian
Currently Reading: The Agency: A History of the CIA by Hugh Wilford

A balanced account of the history of America’s spy agency form its founding after WWII to the present day.  The author notes the agency’s successes and failures and the tensions in a democracy between security and liberty.
