The Testing Center is in Health Sciences Hall, room 376 on the Downtown campus.

The Testing Center is in the Student Center, Building A, Room 100-B on the Southwest campus. 


Schedule a test at the Southwest Campus Testing Center.

As part of RAD (Registration and Advising), first-time freshmen will take their placement test BEFORE new student orientation. First-time Freshmen may register for a testing session on Eventbrite.


Schedule a placement test if you are a first-time freshmen.  


All other placement retests or proctored exams are done by appointment only. Email sara.clifton@kctcs.edu or call 502.213.5211.


Note: The Carrollton campus does not have cashiering. Students seeking to retest will need to pay through Student Self-Service or bring a money order prior to recieving their score report.

The Testing Center is in Suite 101 on the Bullitt campus.

The Tech campus does not have an Testing Center. Students from the Tech campus are welcome to use any other campus' Testing Center.

JCTC uses Kyote for math placement testing.

GED Testing

All GED testing is done at the Technical campus in Building A, Room 201, 727 W Chestnut St.

Proctored Exams

The Testing Center can administer proctored exams throughout the year. 

Reasons for a proctored exam may be, but are not limited to, when a student:

  • Misses a test or exam.
  • Needs to retake a midterm, final, or quiz. 
  • Does not have the technology at home for the test, like a stable internet connection, computer or webcam.
  • Needs a more convenient location to take a test.

Scheduling a Proctored Exam

  1. Students must fill out the the Proctored Exam - Student Form
    • It is recommended to schedule at least 5 days in advance.
  2. Instructors must fill out the Proctored Exam - Instructor Form.
    • Information for proctored exams must be submitted at least 2 business days in advance of the testing date to jf-testing-center@kctcs.edu. 
  3. The student will then be offered testing slots.

NOCTI

NOCTI capstone course exams take place 3-4 weeks before the end of the term and appointments are required. Students can schedule appointments at the Downtown campus or the Carrollton campus. Remote testing and testing outside of the assigned dates are possible only under exceptional circumstances, with approval from both the course instructor and the Testing Center Director. Remote testing has an additional $25 fee. 

All appointments should be made at least 7 days in advance.

Be aware that the exam is 3 hours long, so plan accordingly.
