Intro to Tutoring Visits

Intro to tutoring visits are a great way to inform your students about tutoring and to encourage them to attend. We visit classes and also other groups of students (like clubs, programs, or students at a particular event).

These visits usually last up to ten minutes and share information about tutoring services, what to expect from a tutoring session, how to schedule appointments, etc. We try to send a peer tutor when possible.

To request a visit, please complete this form.

Tutoring Information Materials for Your Students

We are happy to provide you with hard copies of tutoring materials for you to share with your students.

  • Tutoring Infographic: The What, How, and Why of Tutoring
  • Half-Sheet Flyer with Tutoring Schedule for Current Semester
  • "Business Cards" (basics of tutoring help on one side, information about becoming a peer tutor on the other)

Please fill out this form to request hard copies of tutoring materials.

You are also welcome to download this electronic version of the tutoring infographic to share with your students digitally.

Strategies for Encouraging Students to Attend Tutoring

As faculty and staff, you are a driving force for encouraging students to use tutoring and helping them to get the most out of each session. The most effective ways of facilitating student use of tutoring are by promoting tutoring in your classes and carefully framing tutoring when discussing it with students.
