Places to Study

A college library and Learning Commons can be busy, yet it is still one of the best places to study and get assignments done. If you find the main area of the Learning Commons too noisy and it distracts you from your work, ask a staff member to help you find a quieter place to study.

There are often private study rooms available for student use. Please ask at the front circulation desk about availability.

Technology

Computer access is available in all of Jefferson’s Learning Commons. Access does require a KCTCS user name and password. You can reset your password online if you need to do so.

The cost for printing and copying:

Computer Printing $.05/page
Copy Machine $0.10/page

Students can receive computer help through Ask a Librarian or tutoringFor further technology help, we have an entire Learning Guide devoted to Technology

IDs & TARC Passes

Student and Faculty photo ID cards serve as your JCTC library card.

Photo ID cards are made at the Downtown, Southwest, and Bullitt Learning Commons. You will need a photo ID and a copy of your class schedule to get a student ID card made.

IDs on extended campuses can be found in the following places:

  • Tech campus - Building B, Room 109F
  • Carrollton - Reception Area
  • Shelby - Admin Office, Room 118A

TARC passes are distributed at the central service desks at the Downtown and at Southwest Learning Commons. You'll need your student ID and a current schedule to get a TARC pass.
