Learning Commons Policies

Need a Library Card?

  • Students are required to have a current JCTC student ID to check out any materials
  • You can get a student ID card at the Central Service Desk with a photo ID and your current semester schedule.
    • There is a $10.00 replacement fee for Student IDs
  • Current students may also receive a free TARC pass on their ID.
    • There is an additional fee for replacement TARC passes.

Did you know you have access to other libraries?

With a current JCTC student ID, you have access to the libraries of all JCTC and Kentuckiana Metroversity schools!

Metroversity includes: Bellarmine University, Indiana University Southeast, Ivy Tech Sellersburg, Jefferson Community and Technical College, Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Spalding University, and the University of Louisville

**Note: Metroversity policies may be halted or altered during the pandemic. 

 

Can't go to those libraries?

Use Interlibrary Loan Request, which will bring materials from other libraries right to you!


How long can I keep library items?

Students may have a maximum of 14 items out at any one time.

No more than 3 DVDs can be out at one time.

  • Books 21 Days (1 Renewal)
  • DVDs 7 Days (1 Renewal)

What will I pay if I'm late?

  • Books:  $0.10/day
  • Movies and Overnight Reserve:  $1.00/day
  • Two Hour Reserve:  $0.25/hour
  • Maximum Fine:  $10.00 per item
  • Minimum Processing Fee: $10.00 per item

 

  1. Students who damage or who do not return library materials will be charged for the item and processing fees.
  2. Students may be blocked from borrowing items if they have overdue items or fines.
  3. Delinquent accounts will affect your ability to register for classes or obtain a transcript!
