Getting Started with Research

Perhaps you've been given a research assignment. If that is the case, consider the following process.

  • Start by choosing a topic that interests you or researching a teacher-assigned topic to find an angle that interests you.
  • Read reference resources to provide background information on your topic.
  • Find books and other library materials on your topic.
  • Find journal or magazine articles for current research, statistics or analysis.
  • Find web sites specifically aimed at your topic.
  • Cite your sources.

Finding Supplemental Resources

You may not have a research assignment, but you might want help finding supplemental resources for your Anatomy & Physiology class.  Use this guide to find materials that might help you.  Obviously your textbook and your instructor should be your first stop for questions.  But if you need more information, check out some of the resources highlighted in this guide.
