What is Heterosexism?

Heterosexism is the system of prejudice against any non-heterosexual behaviors, identities, relationships, or communities. 

Local LGBTQ+ Community

As a Jefferson student, you can join The Crosswalk @ JCTC. You can contact Malesha Griffin for information on getting involved. The next meeting will be on October 10th in the HUB. 

ULtra Students can join in with the University of Louisville's LGTB groups or events including Pride Week, PINK!, Speak Out Panels and more. 

Louisville has PRIDE events hosted by Kentuckiana Pride Foundation and Louisville Pride Foundation

The Louisville Youth Group is the leading LGBTQIA+ nonprofit in Kentuckiana. They host events that are at no cost in a safe and welcoming environment. Louisville also has an LGBTQ advocacy organization called the Fairness Campaign

The Sweet Breeze Foundation is a local shelter for Louisville's LGBTQ+ youth and young adults. It is a place for shelter, hope, and healing. You can visit the Sweet Breeze Foundation website or Facebook page for more information.
