Advising

Each campus houses its own Advising Center. To contact the center on your campus, please email the following:


During the summer, the Downtown campus offers Advising appointments are offered on a walk-in basis. You can find a schedule of dates and time by contacting Advising directly or visiting the Learning Commons.

During the semester, the Downtown Campus offers appointments for current students are available Monday - Thursday, from 8:30am to 5:00pm. These appointments *must be made at least 24 hours in advance.* You can schedule an appointment via Starfish.

 

Prospective, Returning and Transfer students can make an appointment by emailing jf-advising-center@kctcs.edu. These requests must be submitted via email at least 1 week in advance of your desired date.

Testing/Assessment

To schedule a placement exam at the campus you will be attending, please visit the JCTC Placement Testing online scheduler. This will allow you to setup a time and location that is accessible to you.

If you have a disability and need special accommodations to take a placement test, please contact the Access*Ability Resource Center (ARC) at jf-arc-office@kctcs.edu to set up an appointment and answer your questions.

The Downtown Assessment Center is located in Health Sciences Hall, Room 376.
The Bullitt Testing & Assessment Center is located in Room 108.
The Southwest Campus Assessment Center is located in the Student Center, Building A, Room 100-A.

You can also checkout study guides for various exams at the Learning Commons, in the John T. Smith Library on the Downtown Campus or the Southwest Campus location.


As a student, you also have access to LearningExpress Library. This resource has access to practice tests of all sorts, and will be very useful. You will need to create a free account when you first visit.

Remember that on Test Day:
During your test, cell phones are not allowed.
Please arrange for childcare the day of your test as children are not allowed in the testing area.
Each part of the test typically takes about an hour. If you need all three parts, it will take approximately three hours.

Students with Disabilities/ARC

Study

The mission of the Access*Ability Resource Center (ARC) is to ensure program access for students with disabilities on all campuses.

The Access*Ability Resource Center (ARC) is located on the Downtown Campus in the Chestnut Hall, Room 319.

Contact the Access*Ability Resource Center (ARC) to arrange an appointment to meet with a resource manager. Meeting with the Disability Resource Manager is the first step in the accommodation process.

Students requiring Deaf and Hard of Hearing Student Services (DHHSS) should contact 502.213.4218 to arrange an appointment to meet.
