Using AI to Practice Grammar

AI resources, like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, can be used to help you learn grammar and provide personalized language practice. With ChatGPT (or any other AI tool), users can request tailored exercised to strengthen specific grammar skills like verb tenses, subject-verb agreements, prepositions, and punctuation. Enter prompts such as:

  • Create a fill-in the-blank exercise for practicing past tense verbs
  • Generate a quiz on subject-verb agreement with five example sentences
  • Write sentences with intentional grammar mistakes and ask me to find and correct them

For each of these prompts, the AI can create interactive and targeted learning experience that you are able to adjust as needed.

Similarly, AI resources can be used as a tool for checking your own grammar. You can enter a sentence and ask it if you've used proper grammar or if it has any suggestions. While AI is not 100% accurate or 100% without biases, it can be a powerful resource for learning!
