Andrew
CIT and Math Tutor
I'm Andrew and I'm here to help with your tutoring needs. I have used the tutoring services before and so know what works for me and if it doesn't work for you, please tell me.
Jill
Biology Tutor
Hi I'm Jill, and my goal is to help you love learning as much as I do! I have been teaching science and student success at the college level for about 20 years, both in-person and online. Before that, I was a community college student, just like you, and I went on to get my Bachelor’s in Zoology from the University of Florida and my Master’s in Marine Biology from the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy photography and spending time outdoors with my family.
Kaluhan
Biology, Writing, and Math Tutor
Hey there! I’m Kaluhan, an international student from Nigeria who’s passionate about cosmic cuisine and connecting with awesome people. I’m here to make your journey through Writing, Psychology, or History as smooth as possible. Got a question? Just ask, and we’ll tackle this academic adventure together! I know how challenging it can be to juggle life and school, so consider me your go-to guide. And if I can't crack the code, I'll find you someone who can. Let's turn learning into an epic adventure together!

Madison

Hi, I’m Madison! I graduated from JCTC Class of 2024, and now attend UofL, so I can definitely relate to the struggles that college students face! Apart from tutoring, I am a social justice activist! If there is anything I can do to help you educationally or otherwise, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Noah

A new Tutor who enjoys playing with numbers! The world is racing into a future powered by technology—let’s dive in and be part of the revolution! 🚀✨
Zion I.
Biology and Math Tutor
If you wish your tutoring experience would transport you to Platform 9 and 3/4 or zigzag through windy topics faster than you can say "Mischief Managed!", I would be more than happy to help you on your academic journey. Harry Potter references aside, I am an international student myself, from Great Britain, so I understand the struggles of adjusting to a new community and a hefty syllabus on top of that. Please feel free to come along to the Learning Commons and ask for anything you need help with- if I can't manage it, I can direct you to others in my wonderful team who can!
Zion W.
Writing Tutor
Hi! My name is Zion. I am a writing tutor and student here at JCTC. I am excited to start working with you and help you on your path to success.
Amy Wehrle
Librarian
My name is Amy and I am a librarian at JCTC, so my main job is to help students do research, mostly through the many databases available via the Learning Commons. I love helping students find the information they need for papers, projects, etc. I have a bachelor's degree in English (so I've done my share of writing and research) and a Master's Degree in Information Sciences (where I learned how to help other people do research!). I am married and have two young children. We love exploring the city and have recently enjoyed hiking our way through Jefferson Memorial Forest and the Parklands! I also love pizza, the color purple, ducks, cardigans, Gilmore Girls, reading, and running.
Geneva Jewell
Librarian
Hello, my name is Geneva Jewell. I am a Jefferson alum, earned a BA in Psychology at UofL, and a Masters in Library Science at UK. I can answer questions about a research paper assignment, like how to choose and focus a topic then find sources in library databases or the internet that support your writing.
I love learning, I am fascinated by the process of how we incorporate what we read, watch, and hear into knowing. I am a reader, listener, watcher, and thinker, and I also love growing plants and flowers of all kinds.
Jerica Lowe
Librarian
Hello, my name is Jerica. I’m a librarian at JCTC and I help students with research and computer literacy. I have a BFA in Creative Writing from Morehead State University and Master’s in Library Science from the University of Kentucky. Hobby wise, I love to read, play video games and paint (even though I’m terrible at it).
Krista Dietrich-Osiecki
Librarian
Hi, my name is Krista Dietrich-Osiecki and I am a JCTC Librarian. I can help with Research – finding sources, citations, and evaluating information. I have a Master's in Library Science from the University of Kentucky. I also have a Master’s in College Student Personnel and a Bachelor’s in Public Relations, both from Purdue University.
I have a husband, twin teenage daughters, and a dog. Although, my free time is limited, I do make time to read, travel, cook, and volunteer with Girl Scouts and a food pantry.
Lisa Eichholtz
She/Her/Hers
Librarian
I am a reference and collection development librarian. I am originally from upstate, NY and earned my A.A. from Cazenovia College in 1981, a B.A. in religious studies from LeMoyne College in 1991 and an MLS from Syracuse University in 1992. Before coming to Jefferson in 2004, I worked in medical school libraries and at Sullivan University. In the “before-times” I organized open houses and other programs in the Learning Commons. I have 3 adult children (2 are JCTC alumnae). Please send me suggestions for the collection, or come see me on Ask A Librarian.
Jessie Newman
Dean of the Learning Commons/Co-Director of Tutoring Services
Hi, I’m Jessie, and I’m the director of tutoring services, which means that I’m responsible for all aspects of tutoring. Tutoring is very important to me: I’ve been in school a long time (I have a BS in cognitive science, an MA in language and literacy, an MFA in creative writing, and a PhD in rhetoric and composition), and the tutoring centers were where I felt most at home. I and all of the tutoring staff hope to provide that community here while also helping you reach your academic goals. I love to hear from students (and everyone else), and I’m always happy to talk!
More about me: I’m from Brooklyn but have lived in Louisville since 2015. When I’m not working on my dissertation, I’m probably playing with my dog or watching way too much TV.
Nicole Dugan
Co-Director of Tutoring Services
Joey Piellucci
Assistant Tutoring Coordinator
Hi, I'm Joey and I'm the Assistant Tutoring Coordinator. I recently graduated from UofL with a M.M. in Classical Guitar Performance/String Pedagogy, and was also a graduate teaching assistant for two years. I'm so grateful that I get to continue helping students in my professional career here at the JCTC Learning Commons. The environment is so welcoming and all of the tutors/staff are wonderful people; they work hard to make sure students have the tools they need to reach their goals! You can find me at the tutoring welcome desk working with students or in the tutoring space working under Nicole and Jessie to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
Ana
Assistant Tutoring Coordinator
Hi! My name is Ana, and I'm an Assistant Tutoring Coordinator. I am currently a student at University of Louisville. You will usually find me reading at the desk whenever I'm not making appointments for students. Don't feel shy when coming to ask for help. I will make sure to set you up with the right tutor for your needs.
Maia Graudick
Administrative Assistant
Hey! I'm Maia, and I'm the Administrative Assistant here at the Learning Commons. My job involves working behind the scenes to make sure every part of the Learning Commons has what it needs to continue running smoothly. I'm also a student here at Jefferson! After I get my associate's, I plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in accounting. Outside of school and work you can find me exercising my creativity, expanding my knowledge about outer space, or simply hanging out with the people that matter to me. If you ever need anything, feel free to come find me after class or around the Learning Commons, I'll always be happy to help.
