Printing basics

Most people don't have a printer at home. 

A few places you can print: Cost Double Sided Printing
JCTC Learning Commons $0.5 cents B&W - $1.00 Color No
Public Libraries Depends, usually low cost Typically - Depends
UPS/FedEx Depends, usually high cost Typically - Yes

Printing from a computer

General Printing Guidelines:

  • Pull up the document you want to print. 
  • File, print - Print machine button on a PDF - or press CTRL+P 
  • Verify you have selected the correct printer
  • Verify you are printing the number of copies you need
  • Come to the Central Service Desk and tell workers your last name

Can't find the printer?

Are you on the Downtown or Southwest Campus and your computer isn't pulling up a printer? To Add a Printer (For Printing to the Front Desk) Follow these steps:

  • Open the Start Menu 
  • Then type:
    Downtown Campus Southwest Campus
    • \\jf-svr-print-d2\jf-dt-lrc-frnt-1  OR
    • \\jf-svr-print-d2\jf-dt-lrc-frnt-2
    • JF-SW-LIB-FRONT
  • Hit “Enter”
  • Click on the “Printer” tab in the upper left-hand corner of the box.
  • Click “Set as Default Printer”
